Project - Uber-like platform for on-demand services

Overview

The gig economy has transformed how we access services, but finding reliable help for specific tasks can still be fragmented. Jumpin aimed to solve this by creating a unified "Uber for services" platform. whether a user needs a plumber for a leaky sink or a massage therapist for home relaxation, Jumpin connects them with available professionals instantly.

The challenge was to build a robust, real-time system that could handle complex scheduling, location tracking, and secure payments simultaneously for two distinct user groups—service seekers and service providers—while giving the platform administrators full visibility and control.

What we did

To bring this vision to life, we engineered a complete ecosystem consisting of three integrated applications:

1. User Mobile Application: A Flutter-based app published on both Android and iOS, allowing customers to browse services, view provider profiles, book appointments (immediate or scheduled), and make secure payments.
2. Provider Mobile Application: A dedicated Flutter app (Android & iOS) for service professionals to manage their availability, accept or reject job requests, navigate to locations, and track earnings.
3. Backoffice Web Application: A React-based administrative dashboard for Jumpin support staff to monitor active orders, manage user/provider accounts, handle disputes, and view financial analytics.

The backbone of this system is a high-performance backend built with ASP.NET C#, utilizing PostgreSQL for reliable data storage and Redis for caching. We implemented SignalR to handle real-time communication (crucial for order updates and tracking) and integrated Stripe and Braintree for secure, flexible payment processing.
